Helping Christian business men and women start self-sustaining businesses that can fund their local church.

God established the institution and practice of business as a means of fulfilling His creation mandate to steward and care for all of creation. He is releasing the power of business to aid in the task of fulfilling the great commission making disciples of all nations. God longs to be glorified through our business activities.

Vision

The vision of this program is to see self-supported and sustainable financial capacity in the church and communities through revolving fund.

We believe that revolving fund is a key for the growth of Church, Church planters and also for peaceful generation children facilities. The final goal is to see Christian business men and women being able to support their local Church and mission activities financially through the income gained from their business activities.

Mission

The mission of the development work program is:

  1. To create strong Christian business men and women that understand business as a mission. They have an integral part in the market not only aiming at profit making but also spiritual transformation of their communities.

  2. To make contributions to the social and spiritual development of the community where the kingdom business professionals operate and open doors to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in cooperation with local churches.

  3. To initiate workplace ministry in businesses owned by believers for intentional advancement of the kingdom of God.

 
 

Revolving Fund

This is a one–time loan given to provide a base of sustainability. Church planters submit a business plan which will be reviewed and administrated by Better Life for Pastoralists. There are a significant number of church planters in the process of making a proposal. Sustainability without outside funding is a key to the future of Better Life for Pastoralists.

Among the different business activities proposed to be conducted in the development work sector in the Omo valley the dominant ones are:

  1. The Dairy Farm Project

  2. The Poultry and

  3. The Avocado Farm

There are other businesses as well currently on-going by different Church movement coordinators in the Omo valley specifically in Tsemay and Gnimemeri sites.

15% of the net income/profit gained from all the businesses under this project goes to support the peaceful generation children’s center, the other 15% goes to Better Life for Pastoralists to help secure future grants and 10% goes to the local Church as tenth payment. The other 60% goes to the business owners.

Greenhouse Project

Nursery site establishment project is a business proposed to be owned and operated by a better life for pastoralist’s organization in keyafer South Omo Ethiopia. The nursery site or  greenhouse  the project planned to develop  different kinds of recreational trees or flowers, vegetables, the seedlings of horticultural crops, grafting fruit crops, managing and sowing different kinds of seeds for transplant  generally a nursery site is used as a demonstration. Currently in Ethiopia the government is a plan to planting in billion number oncoming five years focus climate change and food security according to this national plan really the establishment of nursery site and  horticulture business is very profitable work. 

The major   activities 

-          Sowing different kinds of seed on the bed for transplanting 

-          Grafting and cutting different kinds of fruit trees and recreational trees 

-          Adaption of seedling and demonstration of seedling 

-          Developing vegetables or horticultural crops for peaceful generation for food consummation  

-           A project will be working with any other who working related vision and goal of a partner. 

-          Give practical training for peaceful generation students and community about agricultural practice and their management for community mindset change and introducing new technology or agricultural innovation for a partner who working related plan and goals,

-          Developing organic farming system training for community and all our farm is developing by organic a farming system such as using vermin-compost, mulching, and good soil management practice in scientific ways, before planting test soil, used for our farm and supply.

The project area in particular is an ideal geographic area for all agricultural production. The natural and social factors at the project site have demonstrated the technical feasibility of the project. 

Furthermore, the intended project would increase the country's' foreign exchange earnings, provide employment   opportunities, transfer improved skill to the surrounding and also generate additional income to the peaceful generation. Therefore, the project is technically, economically and financially feasible and acceptable. The promoters’ satisfactory business knowledge and extensive work experience in related a business will make them competent enough to run the business through minimizing unforeseen business risks.

Currently Agriculture dominates the Ethiopian Economy. The sector contributes to economic growth by providing employment for a large proportion of the population. It provides export products, food, and industrial raw materials and aids industrial expansion by providing market for domestically produced goods. In the agricultural sector high-value crops, especially horticultural crops, fruits, oilseeds, pulses, and animal products have a great impact in providing market. not only that the urban greening work also the one of focusing issue to global warming. The projects planning to invest on particular areas of in south Omo zone and some other areas. but a first plan is to start on nursery site establishment at kayaker for demonstration.

Objective of the project is the production of high-quality agricultural production, which can generate income, following the major government policy framework which gives emphasis on market-oriented production. In line with this, the following are specific objectives of the project: 

  • To generate internal income  

  • To secure in food peaceful generation, church planters  and pastoralist community

  • To introduce modern agricultural production and management techniques to peaceful generation, church planters and the surrounding locality or pastoralist community 

  • To develop land with a modern organic farming system such as vermicompost and mulch.

  • To maintain climate change  

  • To generate an attractive return to the project and also contribute to the  foreign exchange earning of the country and,     

  • To establishing an international agricultural training center
