New Kids will join Peaceful Generation on January, 2021

We are making all the necessary preparations, including finding sponsors, to welcome five new kids to the Peaceful Generation Children Center on January,2021.

The new kids, three girls and two boys, are selected from three different tribes in the Lower Omo valley of Southern Ethiopia. They are all living in a very hostile environment and in poverty unable to meet their essential needs. Our aim is to provide these children with peaceful, caring environment and better education.

Nadiye Billa

My name is Nadiye Billa and I am 6 years old. I was born from my father Billa Maylia and my mother Narotin Kakuta in Aug 05, 2014 in a village in Gnangatom in South Omo, Ethiopia.

My Mom is a born gain Christian but my Dad is not. My Dad and Mom are both pastoralists whose livelihood primarily depends on raising the livestock and their products as our source of food and income. And due to the unpredictable climate changes and harsh environmental conditions, we face different challenges everyday.

My Dad drinks a lot of alcohol and hits my Mom everyday mostly just because she is a Christian and because of this they got divorced. And my dad refused to support us financially. Recently, my Mom became very sick due to pregnancy and travelled to Jinka Comprehensive Hospital for treatment and the Doctors told her to stay in Jinka for a long time until she completely recover.

She is still in Jinka and I was with her when one of my family members who contacted Peaceful Generation Center, namely Jimmy Lokorma came to tell us that I have got the chance to live and learn in Keyafer center starting from January, 2021. I am very happy and delighted that I have got this chance but please most importantly, I want every one of you reading my story to pray for my Mom’s quick recovery. God bless you all!
